Raspberry Suite Color Challenge Week 2

Hi again,

This is a first for me, 2 posts in one day. I did finally come up with something for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge Week 2. I love the image and colors that she chose. Despite this, I had coming up with something. My creative juices haven't been flowing very well lately. It must be the cold I've had lingering.

At any rate, I did two cards today for the challenge.

Supplies used:

Thanks so much: Paper: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, tempting turquoise. Stamps: SU Pocket silhouettes, Paper Tray polka dots, Accessories: Martha Stewart punch, SU chocolate chip taffeta ribbon, Hero Arts bling

Happy Birthday: Paper: SU Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Stamps: Paper Tray polka dots, Damask Designs, Accessories: Walmart ribbon and buttons.

Thanks for checking in, have a blessed day!

Tuesday

Hi all,

I know that I've neglected the blog. The cold I've had has lingered. My creative juices have not been flowing, and there are some challenges and sketches that I want to do.

In an effort to keep with updating my blog, I'm posting a card I made awhile back.

Supplies:
SU: Old Olive paper, Tangerine Tango paper, Haiku designer paper (so sad that this was retired), circle punches, Best Yet stamp set, Old Olive ribbon
I hope you all have a blessed day.

Happy Friday

Hi Folks,

Well, I already messed up my vow to post daily. However, I have a good reason, I was down for the count with my cold. I'm a little better today, but it's lingering. My left eye will not quit watering, and it's very frustrating.
I am so excited for this weekend. My hubby (Carlin) and I are going to see Chris Tomlin, and I am thrilled. I'm really looking forward to it.

Today's card is one I made awhile back for a challenge but never uploaded it. I thought I'd post it now.
Have a great day!

Happy Wednesday

This will be a short post as I am really tired and am either fighting a cold or allergies.

We went to church tonight where my wonderful husband got to teach on 2 Samuel 16. He did a wonderful job, and that is just not my bias. He is truly a gifted teacher. We went to dinner afterwards and are home now, and quite frankly, I am ready to go to bed.

Since I've told myself I would post daily, I wanted to stick with that especially since I'm only on day 3. Instead of a card tonight, I wanted to share a photo of our dear cat, Frodo (who was named before the movies came out incidentally). He's the biggest baby/manipulator you'd ever hope to meet. I think that this photo illustrates some of his charisma ;)
On some other exciting news, I just received my new camera (a Nikon D40), so my photo quality should hopefully be improving as I learn to use my new camera. My point and shoot has served me well over the years, but I've always wanted an SLR camera and had a gift card that beckoned to be used for this purpose. I'm so excited.
Have a blessed night!

Day 2 of blogging

Hi again,

Welcome back! I really appreciate the visits I had and the very nice compliments. It is so encouraging. I'm trying to figure out how to respond directly to you, but in the meantime, know that I appreciate the sweet remarks I found on my first post.
So, I'm really going to try and make this a habit and try to post daily. Since I'm posting on Day 2, I think I'm on a streak (wink).

For today's post, I am sharing a card
using the Thoughts and Prayers set which I love.
It is so versatile. Unfortunately, lately,
we've needed a lot of get well or sympathy
cards, and this set has a lot of appropriate sentiments. I hope to get to use it for something a little more uplifting in the near future. This card is so simple, but I really like how it turned out. I think that the faux pearls add just the right touch.
Thanks again for stopping by!

Blogging and Color Challenge

I'm trying my hand at blogging. I tried it once before, but I didn't stick with it. I hope that this time I persevere a little more. (I did have a good excuse last year in that I got engaged and had to plan our wedding).

I hope to share some of my crafting creations on this blog. I love paper crafting and jewelry making, so I plan to share both along with snipets of life.

Please be patient with me as I am not super savvy with technology,
so this will be a learning process.

For my first post, I am sharing a card I created using Dawn McVey's color challenge.

Here is one of my cards (I actually made two), but this is my favorite one:

And a close up of the card:

Ingredients:

Stamps: Paper Tray: Damask Designs

Accessories: Stampin' Up Scalloped punch, Birds and Blooms Sizzlets, Big Shot, Regal Rose ribbon, Buttons Galore: Candy store, Martha Stewart: Butterfly Punch, Hero Arts: Gemstones

I hope you like, have a blessed day.
