Hi Friends

It's time for another EBTKS Around the House Challenge. This challenge requires you to use fabric from around the house. The intent is to use something that you already have around the house, not to go out and buy it (think mismatched socks, torn shirts, sweaters, etc.)

Here is my card:

The fabric I used was left from a gift that I made for a babyshower. I have to admit that this was the third card I came up with, and I am still not crazy about it. That is why I am so excited to see what you come up with. I know you will come up with some amazing creations!

I am going to be out of town this week, but please come back to visit my blog. I will have posts scheduled, and there is some exciting news coming out next week!!

Card for Mia

Hi Friends,

Thank you all for your kind wishes and most of all your prayers while I’ve been sick.  I’m finally starting to feel like I’m improving, and boy is it nice :)  I still woke myself up in the middle of the night coughing, but I am definitely on the mend.  I am so grateful to be feeling better.

I even sat down and created something last night.  For the past week, I hadn’t the energy to even craft which really illustrates how sick I have been ;)  Usually, I can muster up the energy to craft.

I don’t have a new creation to share with you today though. I made this card awhile back. My friend, Demaree, told me that her daughter, Mia,  just loved their Valentine’s day card and called it hers.  And she wanted to take it to school to show people, but then she was afraid someone would hurt it.  It was just too sweet and adorable.  (Mia’s 2 1/2 and so CUTE).  Anyway, I decided then that I was going to make Mia her own card, and this is what I came up with.

mia

I figured this covered all the things little girls like… Pink, flowers, pink, sparklies, and more pink :)  Mia was thrilled to get a card of her own.  Mission accomplished. I will be making her another one since she enjoyed this one so much.

I’m also going to be helping a friend of mine with a card drive.  We’re just getting the details together, so I will keep you posted.

Have a wonderful day and be sure to get your cards in the EBTKS challenge

card drive

Hi All,

I know I've neglected my blog lately. I'm afraid that I've been quite ill this week. I've missed work all week and had no energy to craft.

However, I do want to pass along a new card drive for Kids that Jennifer McGuire is organizing. She's done so many of these, and each of the family's who've received cards have been so encouraged, so I encourage you to participate. Go here to check it out.

In the meantime, I have a card to share that I made recently. I am loving the dandelion trends these days.

I am anxious to play with Courtney's You're Dandy set... I am really ready to feel better.

Thanks for stopping by.

EBTKS #9

Hi Friends,

Well, it's the 15th of the month, and you know what that means? Of course you do, it's time for the next installment of the Everthing but the Kitchen Sink sketch challenge.

This month's inspiration comes from Kelly Marie's Day bed.

And here's the sketch

I have to tell you that I struggle with these kinds of layouts. I've done different things in the past with these layouts and always ended up disatisfied. Well, this time, I took a different approach. I decided that I would try to step outside of my usual style and go a little more graphic, I guess. And this is what I came up with.

And you know what, I actually am pleased with it. Like I said, it's different from my normal style, so it's a little unusual. But I think it's pretty cool and would make a great card for a man. I am always needing cards for guys since flowery, glittery, butterfly, gems, etc. aren't exactly manly. Anyway, I hope you like and really hope you participate in the challenge this time.
I think when you read what the prize is, you will really want to participate.. It's the two Practicing Creativity stamps sets from dear Ms. Courtney, so get those creative juices flowing!
Happy crafting girls!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

Hi Friends

Happy Valentine’s day!! I hope you are enjoying your day. I have to say that the cold I had recently appears to have regrouped and brought in reinforcements because I was up a large portion of the night coughing, and my ears are burning.  Guess it could be time to go to the doctor… Ugh

Enough of that and onto cheerier things, I have wanted to participate in the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge, and I made time to do so yesterday.

Here was the trigger image:

Is that just so much fun?!  What little girl (or big girl for that matter) wouldn’t love this as part of her birthday party! Yum!

So here’s what I came up with for the pink challenge:

I have a couple friends in mind who would love this card, so it will be handy to have ready.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to come back tomorrow for the next EBTKS challenge.

XOXO

More flowers

Hi Friends,

I know I posted a card not too long ago that was similar to this (but different colors). I just love this look which is why I've made a couple versions of it :)

I also seem to be on a flower kick. I go through phases.... flowers, butterflies, buttons, gems, you name it! But it's so fun to experiment and try new things. (I also seem to be on a cutting kick...hmmm wonder what is next?? Time will tell)

I like the flowers right now, makes me think of spring. It isn't that far off despite the weather and snow! It will be here before you know it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Cold Wednesday

Hi There

Brrrr, we're having some cold and snowy weather in Indianapolis. Not so much snow as the east coast, but it's enough to make things a hassle. I am so grateful that our city has the resources to deal with it.

I've spent a lot of time crafting lately but not yet photographed any of them. I am planning to do some of that this evening after work. So for today, I thought I'd share another card I made awhile back. I hope you like!

I know I use a lot of designer paper. I just love the stuff. It really helps when you're in a hurry! This was a K&C paper pack and is double-sided! I love that!

Have a good Wednesday and stay warm!

PTI Challenge

Hi All,

Happy Monday.  It’s a new week, and we’re expecting another snow storm to come through Indianapolis between tonight and Wednesday.

Tonight after work, I wanted to craft and decided to participate in one of Papertrey Ink’s challenges as they celebrate their anniversary.  Today’s challenge was called paint by numbers.  She assigned colors based on your user name on the PTI forum and provided the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by, and if you’re in the snow belt, please be safe!

Take care

Happy, Happy Joy, Joy

Hi All,

Thanks for the well wishes on my cold. It is still around and currently has settled into my throat.  Ugh.  I have got to feel better before Sunday.  It is Super bowl Sunday, and my Colts are there!

Anyway, I’m sharing another card that I’ve previously made.  I hope you enjoy!

I’m still working my way through cards that weren’t chosen for publication, so those of you who submitted to the recent Papercrafts pub call may recognize this layout;)

Have a great day!

Tuesday

Hi

How is your week going so far?  Me, I’m battling a cold.  It is strange though.  I have felt just kind of cruddy for several days now, but it hasn’t turned into a full blown cold.  I did stay home today, I am so exhausted. I took two naps.

Anyway, I’ll share a card that I made awhile ago. I will be using it for one of the upcoming baby showers I will be attending this month.  I used that yummy Imaginesce paper that is so adorable.

Have a great week!
