Card Patterns 61

Hi Friends

I hope you had a great Friday.  I wanted to participate in the latest Card Patterns challenge, and I’m just getting it in before it closes.

DSC_0186

I used my W Plus 9 stamps.  These are my first sets, and they are so nice. I embossed the leaves and butterflies with clear embossing powder which so enhances the color.

I’ve heard a lot of excitement about the latest Lawn Fawn release.  I guarantee that excitement is just going to build as you see more previews. She’s got a lot of great stuff in these new sets.

Also, I hope you participate in the EBTKS challenge.  There’s a great prize package in store for the winner!

Hugs!

Lawn Fawn new set!

Hi Friends,

This is an exciting day! Lawn Fawn is starting to debut three new sets! And I have to tell you that they are fabulous! Today's post is doing double duty because it's also the Everything but the Kitchen Sink around the house challenge. It was my turn to host, and I picked envelopes. (I know you all have envelopes, so there is no excuse not to play along!)

I decided to make a card that would utilize the envelopes and one of the images from Kelly's new set "Just my Type." This set is super fun. I used the typewriter image in this card, but I may share another card later where I used another image from this versatile set!
There's an awesome prize associated with this EBTKS challenge, set from Ippity, thanks to Ashley N.Newell

To get more glimpses of Kelly Marie's new set, go to her blog and see what the rest of the design team have come up with. You're going to love this new set (and the two others that will be released!) They are so adorable!

Happy Friday!

Hi

HI Friends,

Happy Tuesday!  I hope your week is off to a good start.  This post is going to be short because I’m off to bed. I cannot seem to get enough sleep, so I need to turn in early:)

 DSC_0174

I made this for the latest Embellish challenge to use Pink, Green, blue and yellow with embossing on a card. The flowers, clouds and grass are all embossed.  The gems are yellow.  Since Practicing Creativity is sponsoring the challenge, I thought I’d use one of those stamp sets (Just Dandy).

I’m trying to broaden my design style and do more simple cards.  I’m not sure I’ve got the hang of it yet, but I’ll keep trying.  We have to challenge ourselves right?

Have a great day!

2Sketches for you bonus

Hi Friends

Happy Saturday!  It’s a rainy day in Indianapolis, but we need the rain. It makes it a good day to stay inside and do some crafting! And for me, coloring!

Today’s card was made for the 2S4You bonus sketch.  DSC_0162

These images are more Unity Stamps, Insightful meadows, and are they pretty.  I embossed them and just love that effect.  And since I’m back on a butterfly kick I had to add a butterfly to the card (PTI), and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Have a wonderful day and weekend!

Happy Friday

HI Friends

The weekend is here!  I hope you all have a great weekend in  store for you.  I’m very excited about the Copic class tomorrow.  Other than that, we should have a pretty laid back weekend which I love!  What about you? Any fun plans?

Today’s card is for the CardPatterns sketch challenge. The sketch is due tonight, so I am getting it in just under the wire.

DSC_0160

I just got my Unity April Kit of the Month, so i had to ink it up.  I love those funky flowers and sweet hummingbird.  Since the flowers were sort of mod and funky, I went with some retro-ish paper.  It’s made by SEI, and is so fun.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful weekend

2 Sketches for You and Caardvarks

Hi Friends

How are you doing? I hope your week has gone well. I’m so glad tomorrow is Friday even though I’ve had a short week due to our getaway.

I’m moving offices and tomorrow is my last day to pack. Yikes!  The movers come first thing Monday morning, so it’s gotta get done tomorrow!

I’ve been doing some playing in the craft room, and I made a card that fulfills both the 2Sketches for you Sketch and the Caardvarks monochromatic challenge. I love it when I can make that work. So many of you are so good at doing that, but I cannot always make it work out.

DSC_0158

I hadn’t done a big butterfly in a long time, so it was time.  I used the Sizzix Stampin Up Beautiful butterflies punch and layered three of them to give the butterfly additional texture.  I used DCWV Designer paper, Foo-fa-la button, Stampin’ up ribbon, and a Hero Arts stamp.

Hope you like and thanks for stopping by!

We’re Back

Hi!

We are back from our brief getaway.  And it was so nice. The weather was gorgeous, just perfect spring weather. We just relaxed, shopped, ate out, and relaxed some more. It was just what the doctor ordered (although I wasn’t ready to come back to work yet).

Thank you for visiting my blog while we were gone! I’ve had so much fun reading the sweet comments.  It was so nice to come home to such kind words. I’ve not had time to respond individually, but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you taking the time to stop and comment. I am trying to catch up on all your craftiness, so if I’ve not yet made it to your blog, I will get there :)  I love seeing what you’ve been up to.

I’m going to share a card today that I made awhile back. I’ve made a couple of things since I have gotten home, but I’ve not photographed or edited them yet.  There are several fun challenges going on that I hope to participate in too!  (I really do need some more time off!)

DSC_0096

I used the Unity March Kit of the Month and Practicing Creativity Just Dandy Clouds.  I colored her with my Copics and paper-pieced the umbrella.  I’m very excited to tell you that I am taking a Copic class on Saturday.  I cannot wait to learn more about how to use these wonderful markers more effectively.

One more thing about our trip, we went to a wonderful papercrafting and rubber stamp store called Papertrix.  She has so many fun things and stuff that I cannot find in other places. I always love visiting her store. If you ever go to Nashville, Indiana, you must go there.

Here’s a photo of the shop from the outside untitled

Thanks again for stopping by!

Big hugs to you all

Off the Wall Craftiness

Hi Friends,

So I will be coming home today... I'm sure I will tell you how quickly the time passed while we were away. I am looking forward to catching up on the blog reading and seeing what you've all been up to.

Today's card is another travel/Miss you card. I had submitted it to a pub call, but it was passed up. But that's okay, I got to color and cut that cute scooter, so that makes me happy. And I have another card that meets the criteria for the Off the Wall Craftiness challenge. I can only submit one, but I thought I'd remind you all of the challenge!
Have a great day!

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge

Hi Friends,

By now, we're in our cabin relaxing... Today (Monday), is officially our annivesary. I can't believe it's been 2 years already. The time has just flown by.

Anyway, today's card is for Taylored Expressions sketch challenge. When I saw it, I saw Courtney's baloons floating in the sky, so I went with it. It also meets the criteria for the Off the Wall Craftiness challenge, which is to have some travel themed card. Hope you like it!

I used Cosmo Cricket's going places paper and paper pieced the images. I just love that look with these stamps.
Hope your week is off to a great start!

Playdate Cafe

Hi Friends
I decided to play along with the most current Playdate cafe challenge. It's called Colour splash. You have to use black and white with a splash of color, and this week's color is orange.

The lovely Kelly of Lawn Fawn is the guest designer and offering up a set of petite florals as this week's prize.
I decided to use the petite florals on my card along with a Papertrey Ink butterfly, and polka dots, and topped it off with a Hero Arts sentiment. (I love being able to combine sets!)
We leave for our brief getaway after church today. In case you're interested, here's a photo of the cabin where we'll be staying.
This is the sign leading to the hideaway...

And here's the quaint little cabin itself. This is our third year going here. We went there the first two nights of our honeymoon, back for our 1 year anniversary, and now back for our second anniversary. The cabin is located on secluded hill with woods in the back. Even though it's so secluded, it's only a mile away from the little town of Nashville, Indiana which is full of little shops and restaurants. It should be relaxing!
Thanks for stopping by and indulging me on showing the photos. I encourage you to play along with the playdate cafe. The Petite Florals is a great and versatile stamp set and would be an awesome prize to win.

2 Sketches For You

Hi Friends,

Happy Saturday!  Yay! for the weekend, and we have a long weekend. Carlin and I are leaving tomorrow after church to visit Nashville, Indiana. We are staying in a cabin for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary.  I’m so excited for this getaway.

I wanted to participate in the 2 Sketches for You challenge.  I woke up extra early today and couldn’t fall back asleep, so I made a card for both the primary sketch and the bonus sketch.

Here’s my take on the primary sketch:

And here is my card for the bonus sketch

Even though we’re going to be gone, I will be scheduling posts, so I hope you come back and visit.

Enjoy your weekend!

Off the Wall Craftiness challenge

Hi Friends,

I know, it’s a second post in a day… Highly out of the ordinary, but Kim at Off the Wall Craftiness has a color challenge going on, and the deadline is today!  I just love the colors she chose, so I really wanted to play along.

Check out this beautiful image…snipet_and_ink

I LOVE these colors, seriously.  So much so that I made two cards…  Kim has a rule of only submitting one entry, so I’m going with this one.

DSC_0139

I’m afraid it didn’t photograph very well. I tried a couple of different things, but I guess when you photograph after dark, you pay a price.

I’ll probably post the other card tomorrow.  Have a great night, and awesome Friday

Hugs

EBTKS challenge

Hi Friends,

Thanks for dropping in today. It's time for another EBTKS sketch challenge. And this is a fun sketch! It comes from Ann's fireplace. Here's what the sketch looks like:
And here is my card... I love having a sketch to work with. I'm suffering from a lack of time in the craft room, stress and missing mojo! So having a sketch to base the card off of is helpful.

See that ruffly yellow strip of ribbon, that is a sample of May Arts ribbon, and guess what?? May Arts is sponsoring this challenge. There is absolutel oodles of ribbon up for grabs with this challenge. So what are you waiting for! Let's get crafting! I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Big hugs!

Tax prep

Hi Friends
Well, today is the day I am going to do our taxes. I've procrastinated long enough. We usually get a refund too, and I've still put it off. Oh well, Turbotax will be my buddy :)

Today's card is one I made awhile back and don't think I've shared yet. I embossed the eiffel tower with Zing and distressed the edges. Have a great day!
Lynnette
EDTA: Taxes are done! Now we wait for the refund! (Why did I procrastinate so? But I love you TurboTax, makes it so easy!)

Hi

Hi Friends,

How was your Monday? I hope your week is off to a good start! We are enjoying some beautiful spring weather here. It's a bad allergy season, but so far the Zyrtec is holding them off.
So today, I'm sharing two very similar cards that used the Hero Arts birthday fishes. I just love this set. It's so fun and whimsical!

PLUS, I got to color and cut images... I'm still continuing in my age regression of coloring and cutting :)
Have a great week!

We Made it to Friday

HI Friends

Yippee the weekend is here.  I am so happy for the weekend.  We don’t have much planned which I enjoy.  I do get to babysit my nephew for  a few hours tomorrow, so I am looking forward to that.  Spending time with him is a blessing. Now that he’s 8, he seems so grown up.

Anyway, onto today’s card. I used the 2S4Y sketch.DSC_0087

I used the March Unity Kit of the Month.  Unity Stamps are my latest obsession.  SO many fun images.  I also used the Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride paper.  Truthfully, I’m not in love with this card, but I thought I’d post it anyway.  As much as I love challenges, sometimes I just cannot fit my creativity into them.  ANYWAY, have a very blessed day friends!

Long week

Hi Friends

Is it the weekend yet? It feels like it should be. However, I do know that there are still two more days left in this week.

Today’s card is one I made for the Taylored Expressions sketch #107 challenge. I used the Lawn Fawn Sew Lovely set because I just cannot get enough of it! I did some paper-piecing again… Hope you’re not getting tired of it :)

DSC_0084

This is a quick post tonight friends, I’m dragging and need to wrap it up!

Big hugs to you all

Lawn Fawn Sketchy Thursday host

Hi Friends,

I cannot believe it's been nearly a week since I posted. Wow, time flies. I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Easter weekend. Ours was great. We went to Good Friday services and then a concert. On Saturday, Carlin and I watched Ben Hur (which is an Easter tradition), and then Sunday we went to our worship services and had lunch with family and a dear friend.

Onto today's post... Lawn Fawn is sponsoring the Sketchy Thursdays now, and I wanted to join in with it. I encourage you to participate.. The winning entry gets a Sew Lovely Stamp set!! Here's the sketch:

Here's my take on it. I used the Petite Florals set. This set is so adorable and versatile. I paper-pieced with it here. (I'm still on that kick, and loving it!)

I also used some yummy Cosmo Cricket paper, Garden Variety. Love it!
Have a great week friends!

Big hugs

Nette
