More thank yous

Hi Friends

I’m continuing on the “thank you” theme this week and am sharing two thank you cards.

The latest Lawn Fawn Many Thanks set is so perfect for creating a variety of thank you’s.

Since these two cards are so similar, I thought I’d share both together.

I thought the swirls in this My Mind’s Eye (Hattie) paper looked adorable with this sentiment.

Travel week

Hi Friends,

Confession time, I’m prescheduling these blog posts. I’m traveling this week to start my new job, and I wanted to share some fun stuff on the blog this week along with some creations. So if something seems out of date or something, it’s probably because I’ve prescheduled it and don’t have a way to update it.

When I departed my old job, I had several really nice people do some kind things to wish me luck and congratulate me. I am so grateful that my departure was pleasant. I’m going to share a lot of thank you cards that I’ve made for these kind friends and colleagues

Today, I’m sharing this one:

I know I’m totally hooked on blissful botanicals, but can you blame me?   This one is for a dear friend who gave me a beautiful new business card holder with the Initial “L” on it.

Thanks for stopping in

Lawn Fawn Happy Turkey Day

Hi Friends,

Welcome to the last day of the Lawn Fawn previews. Today, we’re featuring the mini set “Happy Turkey Day”.  It features a cute little turkey with the sentiment.

Here’s what I came up with:

Isn’t that turkey so adorable? He’s so fun to color!  I used some old patterned paper (I think it’s by Imaginesce but not sure).

Be sure to go to the Lawn Fawn Blog to see the other designers’ creations and to sign up for a chance to win!

Lawn Fawn Harvest Season

Hi Friends

I know you might be thinking that this is supposed to be a new release today. But Lawn Fawn decided to do a fun thing and do a throwback from last year’s sets.  Some of us are featuring Harvest Season, and some of the other designers’ are showing Heebie Jeebies.

Lawn Fawn released Heebie Jeebies and Harvest Season last year, and both are fabulously adorable sets that deserve a little love, don’t you think?

Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0231

I’ve wanted to make a wreath using the leaves from this set for a long time. This release week, or throwback day gave me the perfect excuse to do it!  I started by stamping a circle of leaves on white cardstock that is the card front, and then stamping leaves on another sheet of paper.  I colored them various fallish shades. I cut several out from the other sheet of paper and arranged to create a full wreath.  I added the strip of patterned paper and stamped the sentiment.  I wrapped some twine from the Twinery around it and adhered to the card base.  I tied a bow and attached to the wreath with a button and finally added some bling to it.

I hope you like it.  Be sure to go to the Lawn Fawn blog to see the other designers’ projects and sign up for your chance to win

Lawn Fawn Many Thanks

Hi Friends

It’s day 2 of the Lawn Fawn previews, and today we get to feature a fun sentiment set called “Many Thanks.”  I needed some thank you cards, so this set is perfectly timed for me. With holidays fast approaching, I am guessing we can all use some good thank you sentiments.

Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0206

You can see that I combined with the wonderful Blissful Botanicals set and some My Mind’s Eye paper (Stella Rose—Mabel).  I added some Prima flowers and a few bits of bling.

If you haven’t already, be sure to head over the Lawn Fawn blog to see the other designers’ projects and to sign up for a chance to win.

See you back tomorrow for another Lawn Fawn post

Lawn Fawn Happy Haunting

Hi Friends,

It’s that time again, time for some new Lawn Fawn stamps to be released.  There are 9 new sets that will be released this week, and boy are there some fabulous stamps coming out.  The Design Team are previewing 3 of the new sets, beginning with Happy Haunting today.

DSC_02071

When I saw this set, I was blown away. It has so many perfect images for the upcoming Halloween season. (It will be here before you know it, can you believe it?) I absolutely loved coloring Haunted House with my Copics. I did layers of W-1, W-3, W-5 with some E-33 and E-35 to try and give it that worn look.  You can’t tell in the photo but the points on the fence actually have black Stickles in them.  At the last minute I added the googlie eyes to the ghosts, and I’m glad I did.

Make sure you head over to the Lawn Fawn blog to check out the Design Team’s work and sign up for your chance to win some new stamps!

Hugs and Blessings

Smile

Hi Friends

Sorry my blog posts have been so sporadic lately. I've had a lot going on. It's all good stuff, but it's still be a lot on my plate. I'll tell you about it below. Before I do that, I thought I'd share a card I made using the fabulous Lawn Fawn set Blissful Botanicals.

I just love this set. There are so many options with it. I have focused on the leaves before, so I decided to give the flowers some love.

So, here's what has been going on. I've recently resigned from my job. I've been at this company for nearly 13 years, so this was not a decision that I took lightly. I had an incredible opportunity come my way, and after a lot of prayers, Carlin and I decided that I should pursue it. I am overwhelmed with how good God is to me. Friday is my last day, and I still cannot believe it.

I am so excited about this new job, but I am sad and nervous too. I have a lot of friends I've made over the last 13 years, so it's hard knowing I won't be able to meet up with them easily for coffee or lunch. (I am going to be working from home, so I can meet up with them for lunches, just not so easily). Thus, while I am excited, happy, it is also bittersweet.

I've not slept real well because of my mind racing. I've also got some other things unrelated to work that I'm working through that have me preoccupied. It amazes me how God blesses me despite all my flaws. I am so grateful.

That is just a little bit of why I've been inconsistent here at the blog. I want to let you know that the friends I've made while blogging are a huge blessing to me. I am amazed at the friendships I've made through this little blog. I thank you all for stopping by. I do apologize for not commenting on your blogs lately. For some reason, I cannot comment on google blogs when I'm using my internet explorer (I've not taken the plunge on my laptop to switch search engines, but I'm getting close). The only time I can comment on blogs is when I'm on my iPad using Safari. I do stop by and ooh and ah and the amazing creations.

Just one more thing, remember there's a super fun Lawnscaping challenge going on right now with a great prize package from Jenni Bowlin.

Have a great day, hugs and blessings

Lawnscaping challenge

HI Friends

It's time for anotehr Lawnscaping Challenge. This one is sponsored by the awesome Jenni Bowlin. She's offered up a generous prize package that you're going to love.

The Design Team got some goodies to play with while we made our single layered cards. This is one I came up with:

It's feeling fallish here the last day or so (and I love it). That inspired me to break out the Lawn Fawn "Harvest Season" stamp set. I also attempted coloring with colored pencils, and boy do I need to work on that. (And probably invest in a little better colored pencils).

Hope you play along!

Make Me Smile

Hi Friends,

How are you? I hope you all are doing well. This is going to be a short post, so bear with me. How about I get right to the creative part of the post:

I just love this sentiment. I keep thinking I'm going to make something for my hubby with it, but this card ain't it (wink). Just a little too girly for my man. I originally made this card for the Lawnscaping distressing challenge, but then I got the idea to make the sunset card instead. Speaking of the Lawnscaping challenge, there is still a little time left. It's being sponsored by the super fabulous Simon Says Stamp . They are super duper sweet and ship lickity split. So a chance to win $25 gift card is fabulous!!!

Thanks for stopping in friends, and enjoy your week

We each made projects pairing up Denami stamps with Lawn Fawn Stamps. Let me tell you that this was super easy to do, they compliment each other so well. I decided to get a jump start on Christmas projects. Here’s what I came up with:

Lawnscaping challenge

Hi Friends,

I hope you had a great weekend.  I can’t believe it’s Monday already, and August!  Time flies. This summer has been so hot that we’ve not really been able to be outside to enjoy it.

Speaking of time flying, it’s already time for another fun Lawnscaping Challenge!  This one is about distressing. The options are wide open for this one.  You can distress edges, images, or background colors.  I wanted to challenge myself on this one and decided to go with making a background color scheme.

Nettedistressing

I wanted to create the feel of a sunset.  It took a few trial and errors to get the effect I was going for.  In the end, I am satisfied with how the colors turned out. I used Tim Holtz’s Wild Honey and Fired Brick distress inks along with a some Stampin’ Up So Saffron (it’s lighter).  I started inking my white Neenah paper with the So Saffron ink, then added the Wild Honey, and then the Fired Brick. I went back with the Wild Honey to get some blending and smoothing out of the color.

For the scene, I broke out Lawn Fawn’s “Critters in the Forest.” I’ll confess here that I had these images colored and filed away (I love to color and cut, so sometimes I will sit and do that while we watch television. Then I have a stash of colored images to create from.)  I used the sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “On the Mend”.  I arranged them and wanted to leave some “white space” or “sunset space” in this case (wink).  I tell you it was tough for me not to put something in it.

Our challenge sponsor this time is the fabulous Simon Says Stamp. They are offering up a $25 shopping spree to the winner.  I have to tell you, I just love them. They are so nice and quick to ship.  This is a great prize, I tell you.

Be sure to go to the Lawnscaping blog to check out the other design team members’ inspirational pieces. There are some super duper fabby creations to get your mojo flowing.

Thanks for stopping in.
