Random Post

Hi Friends

I thought I’d just post a fun post to catch up on things. I have neglected the blog for  a while and want to remedy that.

I thought I’d catch you up on what has been happening in our life (my hubby and mine). We bought a new house and moved in 4 October. We love it, the yard is gorgeous (I hope we don’t mess it up). It is much bigger and has a basement that I am going to be using as my primary craft area. We have loads of things to do to make it ours (getting furniture, painting), but we love it so much.

We also decided to get a puppy. Since we had lost George in Bonnie in the last two years, we really wanted to have two dogs.  So in late October, Pixel joined our family.  Because she’s so adorable, I can’t resist sharing a couple piccies.

This is the day I brought her home….(look at that face, who could resist?)

And here’s one with her and Bella (they are BFFs which is great but sometimes, Pixel gets on Bella’s nerves…. and I can understand why!)  Pixel’s ears are up in this photo, but they’ve since folded down like in the top photo.  Her ears have gone through different iterations since we brought her home, but now (as of today,) they are folded down. We’ll see if they stay that way.

I cannot believe how much she’s grown. She used to make Bella look huge, but now she’s bigger than Bella. Now, Bella is only 5.5 pounds, so it’s not a huge accomplishment.  Just amazing how quickly she’s grown.  It’s been so fun having a puppy. I’ve not had a puppy in YEARS, and it’s been since Carlin’s childhood  since he’s had one. She’s a lot of energy and work, but it’s so worth it.

Thanks for reading and sticking with this post.  I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to!

Lawnscaping Challenge

Hi Friends

It’s time for another Lawnscaping challenge.  This challenge is sponsored by Lawn Fawn

LawnFawn_blinkie

This challenge is to create a project inspired by one of the design team.  So for our inspiration pieces, we did the same. I chose one of Elise’s projects, which can be found here.  Here’s her project:

and here’s what I came up with using that as my inspiration:

I used the Love You Tons set from Lawn Fawn along with some of the new Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka paper. I will be including it in the Cards from the Heart Card Drive organized by Winter. (check out her blog for all the details).

Now, be sure to head over the Lawnscaping blog to check out the projects!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Card Drive

Hi Friends
Hope you are having a great week!  Each year Winter organizes a card drive to support children in hospitals, and I’m happy to be participating.  I’ve been busily making cards to send to her to send to the various hospitals.  Winter has all the instructions on her blog. There are a ton of prizes for participating, not that you need that incentive to join in, but it does sweeten the deal.
Here are some key guidelines for the card drive:

  • Cards need to be a Valentine theme.
  • Cards can't have anything about 'Get Well Soon', 'Feel Better', or anything reminding them of being sick. (Only Valentine Cards)
  • Please make cards that can be used for any gender or age. No buttons or anything that can be pulled off and become a chocking hazard.
  • Cards MUST be able to fit into a 4 1/2 X 5 3/4 envelope (A2 size, but can be smaller, just not bigger). I CANNOT use them if they are bigger! (I will provide clear envelopes for each card, so there is no need to send one with your card.) The clear envelopes make it easier when they hand them out to the kids.
  • You can include a message in the inside, but please remember, nothing reminding them of being sick. (Maybe just a Valentine sentiment.) You can also sign your first name and what state you are from.
  • Cards will be accepted for the whole month of January. ( Jan. 1 - Jan. 31, Please don't send any after that because they need time to get to the hospitals in time for Valentine's Day.) At the end of the month, Winter will draw names for prizes. The more cards you send, the more times your name goes into the drawing to win prizes. Let your kids get involved too! More prizes and sponsors will be added often.
  • Please send a piece of paper with your name, address, email address, and the amount of cards you sent. (It will help for the prize drawings.) A lot of the prizes will be sent from the sponsor, so your email is needed!
  • Please send cards to:
    Winter Sims
"Cards from the Heart Card Drive"
    P.O. Box 754
    Warren, TX 77664
  • If anyone wants to donate a prize for the drawings, please email me with the details at
wintersims1@aol.com .
  • You are welcome to use the Card Drive badge on your blog to spread the word, just remember to save it to your computer first.
  • It may seem like there are A LOT of rules, but they are the hospital's rules and we want to obey them, to keep the kids safe. So I hope you will join us again for another great year and help us put some smiles on those sweet kids faces on Valentines Day! :)
    Go
here to check out the Sponsors and Prizes.

  • I don’t have any photographs of the cards I’ve made, so I thought I’d share a card I made last year.

I will be posting some cards that I’ve been making recently in the coming days.
Hope you decide to join in with the card drive, it is such a great cause.
    Have a blessed day friends!
